Hi Mogens,

Another thing worth trying would be to tell skype not to adjust the
soundcard automatically. You will find this in the options dialog box under
the sound devices tab.

Subject: Skype

Skype is causing me problems. I'm using v. 2.0.0.103 (not 2.5 Beta9 and the
microphone doesn't work, I'm using a Logitech USB headset and that works
correctly in other applications. It is set as the default sound recording
and playback device under sound and audio devices, and I have sat Skype to
use default devices as per their setup guide. I have run the guide to test
sound devices and it works correctly. There are no other microphones
connected.

I have allowed Skype in both directions and for all ports in my firewall.

Calling Skype's 123-test center shows that my voice has not been recorded
and Skype stops responding and can't be closed even in the task manager. It
also kills the sound in other applications, and I can't even close the
system or kill any processes; the only way I can get out of the problem is a
hard reboot.

The darned thing has occasionally worked but no longer.

Any ideas?
