Go to Start | Programs | Accessories | Accessibility | On Screen Keyboard.
Click the highlighted NLK key off. There's also a registry hack you might need
to do. There's a thread on it here:

This is a question for you gurus!!! My wife's notebook has started exhibiting
a very strange behavior. In ALL applications..Notepad, Browser, Word, etc.
when the following letters are struck on the keyboard, the following numbers
and character results:
i gives 5 (the number)
j gives 1
k gives 2
l gives 3
m gives 0 (zero)
o gives 6
p gives *
and u gives 4
All other keyboard keys give the correct character or number.
When I hit 1, 2, 3, 0, 6, * and 4 on the key pad the same character/number is
produced, so the problem is only when letters are entered.
This is 100% repeatable behavior. It started 2 days ago. The PC has been
rebooted many times and the problem persists.
Does anyone have a suggestion. It is a notebook computer. Lots of RAM, lots
of free HD space, XP Pro is fully updated.
