Just to compare, Newegg.com has Seagate 400GB ATA drives (OEM, which means bare bones) for $200. So that is a good deal at Outpost.com.

Weird, I'd never heard E/IDE referred to as PATA. I had to look it up. <LOL> I see that Seagate is starting to refer to the IDE drives that way on their website, too. I guess they are trying to make sure people understand that it's not a SATA drive, but in my mind, at this point it is only more confusing. They've always been IDE drives and they should keep it that way until they die out. IMHO. WD, by contrast, still calls them EIDE drives on their website.
