The power supply fan draws air from inside the case and exhausts it to the
outside.  It's not that unusual to not have a separate case fan in consumer
grade hardware.

As for the shutting down and rebooting, you need to disable "automatically
restart" in the Control Panel / System / Properties / Advanced / Startup and
Recovery tab.  Then the reason for the reboot will be left on the screen so
you can take notes and post the details (verbatim and complete, of course).

I have never seen a case without an exhaust fan.
How does the heat get out of the case without a fan?
Her case has a lot of perforations.
Can HP be depending on convection?
Or is Philip just full of ****?
The reason this started is that her computer keeps shutting down and 
rebooting.
I told her it was because of heat build up.
She needs a fan.
Has anyone seen a case without a fan?
Incidentally this has an AMD Athlon 3000 CPU in there.
