Sorry but the fact still remains that I've never seen it done nor have I
seen it work. I'm very happy that it has worked for you but I don't want to
boot to DOS as it doesn't do what I need. Why would you want to boot to DOS
when you've got a Knoppix Live CD ?

As far as I'm concerned why would I mess with something that is NOT going to
be universal? I know that BartPE on a 3.5" CD will boot on many more
machines unless it has severely limited memory & then the machine probably
won't have USB except via an add on card. FWIW many external drives do NOT
support USB via addon cards. Heck I wouldn't use USB at all if there were
more firewire devices at reasonable prices but thanks to Apple for screwing
that up & for Intel seeing an opportunity & jumping on it.
