'Off the shelf' price is usually cheaper for the upgrade version -
Try www.dabs.co.uk and www.savastore.co.uk for the mail-order pricing
www.pcworld.co.uk for the 'mart' computer store pricing
Look to www.Symantec.co.uk for licence renewals
(They operate from Ireland for their retail supplies to UK consumers
(complete with the higher Irish taxes - and it sure takes some extra work
to
find the 'upgrade' versions)
Also be careful when getting 3, 5 and 6 user packs -
The year starts for all the installs from the day you do the first
install!
So if you have several systems and think it's cheaper to buy a multipack
to
use as each existing licence runs out, you could find you lose a
substantial
portion of the licence period!
I haven't paid anything but sales taxes for NSW, NAV, and Ghost for the last
3-4 years. That's because I've always purchased when rebates are for the
price you pay! You have to watch for these deals as they can showup at
CompUSA, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. at various times. You will never get
that kind of deal direct from Symantec.
