Perhaps the Forward An Email page is supposed to open in a New Window,
but you have some software installed that supresses popups and opens
them in the same window. Once the email has forwarded Yahoo runs
javascript to close their extra window, which is resulting in your main
window getting closed instead.
Just a totally wild guess.

Carl,
No it does not happen until I forward an email. I have McAfee running a
scan every day and Webroot Spysweeper is resident plus runs a daily
scan. I have recently scanned with Ad-aware and Spybot and came up
clean. I use Spyware Blaster to keep more bad guys out and have a
Sygate firewall.
I cannot do the online antivirus scans like Trend Micro Housecall
because my activex settings prohibit it. I have tried relaxing the
settings but have never gotten Housecall or Panda or any of them to be
allowed to run.

If you sign on to Yahoo mali and walk away, does the browser window
close by
itself?
I'd be all over the thing looking for what trojan or virus got in if this
started happening on mine.

Recently I have experienced this problem. I forward an email from my yahoo
account and it sends just fine. But after that the browser window
closes by itself.
