I never said anything about size: only "server" vs "desktop client". Client systems can easily run behind strict firewalls that leave user- initiated problems as virtually the only vulnerabilities. The fact is that there is a LOT known about computer security, the nature of of threats and vulnerabilities and techniques and mechanisms to make penetration more difficult and mitigate the damage if you are penetrated. I'll happily agree that you choose to run your system a lot less securely than XP will (easily, IMO) allow you to and that you're comfortable with that decision.
