Thank you to all that answered. That was my re-action exactly! I have taken
your advice and un-installed Real Player, as well as erasing all reference
to it from the registry.
Ever since I paid for something with Pay Pal when I was running Windows 98,
I can receive over 8000 hits a day from someone trying to access my
computer. I don't now remember how to determine that -- it was done at the
direction of someone else on a Windows mailing list. I'm sorry, but I am
getting old for all of this. With the help of people like you, I haven't had
but one incident of corruption of my hard drive. That was my own fault. I
believed a weiner tech support guy at Ancestry.com and shut off my security
so that they could "determine" why I couldn't access their site without a
work around. I had to get a new hard drive to get rid of the garbage that
loaded itself in about 30 seconds.
