I'm running the eval version of win4lin1.0 on RH6.2 w/ 2.2.16
1) Trying to correct somehting that went wrong after using win4lin in
an 8bit environment (after using it in 16bit). (The transparency of
all the icons in windows are black now (but this is not the real
problem)) I went to the display properties in windows and changed the
display from 16bits to monochrome.
Hooray for me! Now after 'win' is run, it quickly tells me that "Your
DOS box has tried to go into VGA graphics mode." and that this is not
supported. Your only option is to exit now.
How may I restore the old settings in windows without reinstalling it
;-(
If you tell me, I promise never to do this again ;-)
I have a 'real' installation of windows on another patitoin.. if I
could copy any files from there and replace them in the new install
let me know which ones.. perhaps the registry file (though I don't
know where or what it is named).
2) Once I order the registered version of win4lin will I be able to
keep the current windows installation I've made with the eval
version? i.e. easy upgrade?
