IIRC, you need to reinstall the video device for the new resolutions
to be visible. I keep my own copy of resolutions for when I upgrade
(beta versions) and replace the one installed. I only use a few of the
custom resolutions anymore and I only find it necessary to add larger
sizes. My current resolution is 1260x920 which fits nicely in KDE at
1280x1024 X resolution. I find it better to run this way with W4L on
it's own screen so Windows can take advantage of the screen space. I
find this much easier when switching from Windows to Linux than using
fwin and having to switch consoles via <control>+<alt>+<f#> especially
if attempting to cut and paste.
