A guess is that PC Anywhere has probably added a whole bunch of new drivers
into display Windows registry so that it can become a server and intercept any
keyboard/mouse/display.
I'd be very surprised if you'll get any applications like this to work.
Unless they have a "client code don't install any server junk" option then
your out of luck.
You could possibly look at installing VNC on the server, I'm using it fine
on my W2k server machine. Be aware that you shouldn't try to have VNC and
PC Anywhere installed on the same machine at the same time as they both
update registry... Oh, and VNC isn't perfect either.
Other than that, you've got a few other options: Reboot into Windows (woo),
VMWare (sloooow), or kick Symantic so they produce a Linux version (or
maybe they could just rename to "Windows Anywhere but not W2k unless you
install the correct patch before rebooting").

I'm not sure the best way to recover a corrupt session. Maybe there is a
tech tip for it, though I suspect you'll be needing your backup of that
users session. We all make backups, right?

Interesting :) Run a PC to run a Window on a Linux box to run a Windows
session (which then runs PC Anywhere to control another PC).
