Hello Roger There is absolutely no doubt that Jaws is by far the most responsive. However, it is also very restrictive in some ways, or it appears so to me, as a very very new user. I confess that I have not had the time I should probably devote to Jaws to do so as yet, owing to pressure of work. But fear not, I shall get around to doing that because I would hate to not give the software a fair chance.
My other half has been very generous in her support of late, as have the people I work for. I now have a copy of EaseConverter by Dolphin Computer Access which allows you to convert media between several formats. I mention this here because I’m keen to see how intuitive it is with Dolphin’s own screen access product, as well as with others. I’ll do the review of it when I get the time. To answer your query though Roger, I have no reason as yet to change what I posted previously save for the responsiveness issues which, I suspect, have something to do with the fact that only Jaws directly supports the SAPI5/64 speech engine. The others still use SAPI5 32-bit exclusively as far as I’m aware. I was wondering if you have found any major differences using different version of Windows, or does your suggested list of five stay the same regardless?
