I am currently trying to get IBM Websphere Studio to install using Wine. I
am running the version from July.

There are a few messages that come up at the begining, but nothing that I
am not familiar with running other programs such as Notes.

Then in the progress indicator it says that it is Registering OCX objects,
and there is stops. At the same time is says that it is ignoring the
CREATE_SEPARATE_WOW_VDM option when trying to start regsvr32.exe. If I
leave it running for long enough, it then complains about a timeout on a
Critical Section when never gets resolved.

Not being a Windows API programmer, does anyone have any pointers as to:-

1) Am I likely to get anywhere with OCX registration? I can not find any
regerence to it in the source although there are references to it in
binaries and the winelib HOWTO.

2) What is a WOW_VDM, and should I be worried about it?

3) Is anyone else working on this area at the moment?

4) I did not seem to have regsvr32.exe anywhere on my system, so I borrowed
a copy from a Win98 system (I was running in -winver win98 mode just to be
sure). This however did not change anything. If I just run regsvr32.exe
it produces a dialog saying I need parameters, just like it does on Win98.

Anyone got any good pointers as to how to proceed to track this one down?

Thank you in advance

David
