I think i had an idea that may help you on makeing wine more powerfull on running games it's very simple and stupid there are a gift lib is called allegro (see www.allegro.cc) that is open source have win32/linux version the windows version is based on direct x most games on windows is based on allegro or a lib derived from allegro so open the code of the windows vertion of allegro and compare it with the linux version of allegro you will see the corrsponding linux code how is that?? stupid ha?
