I think GMail drops mails sent by your own account (does the same for
me) because when I was subscribed to wine-devel thru yahoo, I always
received my own emails, and it drove me nuts.

That must be the case. I know that if i explicitly email myself, it
shows up in my Inbox, but Thunderbird never collects it. Useful for
gmailfs stuffs
