I think we could have handled one or the other, but both together are apparently more than our current systems can handle. We've stopped mysqld for the moment to try to ride through this; still trying to figure out if there is a simple way to get it through this hump. (Both Digg and /. have really short curves; the demand will be down within hours, and we can go back to business as usual). Cheers, Jeremy
