Some question about authorization to ask

Hi wink-dev:
    I am a wink user. When I do develop with wink, I can't handle the 
authorization well.  I want to ask  some question below:
1.Use BasicAuthSecurityHandler.java  To handler authorization ?   The username 
and password will send to server by attached in HTTP-HEAD ? and I can get the 
BASE64-String  then decode ?
2. How to use SSL or proxy?  the User Guide  does not  have any information 
about this. Could you give some example by help ?
