Yes, I had noticed it, when mixing ::GetAdaptersInfo() and
::PacketGetAdapterNames() to compare AdapterInfo[i].AdapterName's.

I agree. The name mentions PPP, could be + understandable for e.g. ADSL
users who don't know about "NDIS" but know about PPPoE,oA,etc.
