Being one of the largest 802.11 implementation in the country,
UT has decided to play on the safe side: 0% convenience, 100% security.
As of today all Access-Point on campus will be shutdown.
Any entity that wants to re-enable the infrastructure for their
location will have to send a double request to 2 redundant secretaries
that will then forward encrypted paper requests to standby 24/7 Network
Engineers. All request will have to specify the time of operation
with starting time eg: 23:14:65:000, exact number of
packets expected to be transmitted and exact shutdown time in
milliseconds.
As an additional security measure all users will be filtered
on the unique Intel Processor ID number.
Macintoshes will be out of luck.

Anyone willing to contribute to this perfect secure solution
is welcome to submit their comments to RFC 1441.

Philippe Hanset
24/7 Secretary
