Note we have been playing with the Beta VLAN and WPA code for the Orinoco
platform for about 4 months. Works fine...
Note you do need new hardware in the APs.  The original Orinoco 802.11b and
the first gen 802.11a cards do not support VLAN.
 Effective yesterday the code is available to all on the proxim site:

We have begun doing this with newer Cisco APs in order separate the AP
management IP from the wireless hosts.
