All,

I would agree that technical support from vendors of whom their products information is requested, but IMO that is not an open invitation for some other competing vendor to call or e-mail you and try to sell their products, especially if they get the information about your situation from a discussion forum like this one. This forum is intended for professionals in our field (user or vendors) to discus and share information on a technical level.

All-

I appreciate the frustration of having too many sales people calling etc. but a lot of information comes from these folks and I for one appreciate their support and assistance.  I wouldn’t think “sales weasels” is the term I would use for most of them.

I hear you Chip on this Sales Call crap. I put out one e-mail and now I am getting calls from Sales Weasels. I thought this was a place that Folks could share ideas and questions about wireless and not get accosted by somebody trying to sell their wares.

This is not an invitation for sales calls.  Please do not respond to my email with lines such as “I am a sales consultant with a company providing an integrated suite for secure management of wireless networks,”.

Thank you.

We have begun the final phase of our wireless rollout at the University of Richmond, and have decided to implement Layer Three Roaming with the Cisco WLSM.  The demo WLSM has been installed in one of our 6500 chassis and we have been successful at configuring it to work in our test lab.  If anyone is willing to share their experiences in design, configurations, limitations or dynamic VLAN uses with a current installation, we would greatly appreciate the feedback.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
