The campus has six wireless "zones", each fed by gigabit Ethernet, with
fan-out to the APs throughout the campus buildings. These feeds,
though, come into the campus core (4 gig links, more or less), and share
the campus OC-12 (ATM, so about 450-500Mbps for Internet) and Ten Gig
(for NLR, Internet2) WAN links.

Wireless is integrated into the campus network.

Our deployment is b/g. No separation is made between fac/staff and
student wireless use (though residence halls, which are wired, can use
up to about half of the OC-12). Wireless users can regularly get 1-3
Mbps useful to off-campus, somewhat more for on-campus. But of course
it varies a lot with cell utilization. The expectation is that wlan is
always going to be very inferior to a wired connection, for obvious
reasons (i.e. because it is).
