Tony, There is an easy answer to that: Bluesocket. I believe it does just about everything on your list and more including SMS authentication which we helped them develop. This allows us to have easy self provisioning of guests while maintaining accountability (which we have never had to use BTW). It is set up so that it can be used with no documentation. You will also probably need/want to set up an account with someone that can gateway the SMS's for you and automatically send them to the correct carrier.

I realize that most wireless controllers provide a simplified guest portal mechanism. However, we are interested portals that provide advanced functionality. Our basic criteria: Simple setup Easy portal customization (no HTML guru needed to setup and deploy) Easy deployment (something that doesn't take a network architectural overhaul) Good logging (post abuse forensics) Ability to use the portal in a wireless and wired environment Username/password credentials MAC address credentials Other credential mechanisms Advanced account creation (self-services with SMS validation would be a great solution) Bulk account creation (import of a csv) High availability hardware configuration Equipment and software stability Are any of you using solutions that have similar capabilities as I describe above and happy with it? ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
