I'm dealing with it now. They are getting a small private network, period. No
hoops being jumped through for the mother$hip that can't play well with others.

Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] Apple Tune&Play

We just got this e-mail from Apple, anyone dealt with this yet? It
isn't clear whether they're expecting to put Apple radios in the
bookstore or not. I've asked for clarification

We're rolling out a software tool called Tune&Play to distribute
content and software from Apple to our Campus Store locations. The
stores are provided with a Mac mini that runs the software and
downloads content from Apple, then distributes it over the network to
the demo units in the store. Beyond including licenses for things like
OS X Mavericks and iWork, the platform also maintains these demo units
to wipe any customer generated content, ensuring a great experience
for anyone in the store.

As far as the network is concerned, I've listed a few requirements below:

1) All machines (demo kiosks and hub) must be connected to the same
in-store network (wired or wireless)

2) The store's network must be capable of supporting Bonjour with
multicasting so that these machines can see each other easily on the
same subnet

3) The Tune&Play hub must be capable of accessing the below URLs to
download content from Apple

• devices.tuneandplay.net port 443 (https)
• 0-hubs.tuneandplay.net port 443 (https)
• 1-hubs.tuneandplay.net port 443 (https)
• nirvana.tuneandplay.net port 443 (https)
• tuneandplay-ak.apple.com port 443 (https)
