Apogee is providing Residential Services to Canisius College and our experiences are very much like Union's college (although we had a Summer time roll out). We hope to include Apogee as an option when we propose upgrade to our Academic/Administrative wireless network.

We were skeptical at first but, the more we looked at it the better it looked. By the time we actually got everyone on board here on campus and secured the funding it was too late for the summer break. They came in (Apogee and their contractors) during our Winter break (Thanksgiving to New Years) and deployed all their switches and access points. A very narrow window and complicated in that the dorm rooms weren't cleaned and emptied like they would be for summer. When the students came back there was almost no problems. They had the wireless access that they had been asking for (we provided spotty access in dorms at best) and we (the network staff of 2) had almost no calls from students. Actually, the only calls we got were redirected to Apogee's call center. Coverage is good - they (Apogee) took a wall jack in just about every other room and put an Access Point in it. If the occupants wanted more wired ports they put a small switch in the room on the other port. Now almost a year into it no complaints from me. We have monthly calls that discuss the calls and tickets they had. They test speed and coverage monthly with their on site support staff. It's been great. We can focus on improving and supporting the campus proper without the hassles of supporting gaming systems, copyright violations, bandwidth complaints, etc. On Thu, Oct 31, 2013 at 8:36 AM, Andy Page <ap...@nd.edu<mailto:ap...@nd.edu>> wrote: Has anyone had experience with outsourcing their WiFi infrastructure to Apogee, or perhaps explored this option?
