Very helpful. We don't use AVC much currently though we were considering it.
I do have profiling on. Which version of NBAR were you using?. How long have
you been running 8.0? Just a month?

I did get a watchdog reset in one of my prior reboots.

So far no unexpected reboots again yet.

We have three 5508s and one 8510 in production. The 8510 went in new over the
summer, straight onto 8.0.100.0, and we upgraded the 5508s at the same time.
530 APs, generally around 8,000 concurrent clients per day (up to 17,000 unique
devices across the day).

Generally things have been good on 8. APs are more stable and aren't changing
txpower and channel anything like as much as in 7.6.

We're investigating an issue with our support provider and Cisco about
miscounting the number of APs on a controller, which seems exacerbated by local
mobility clients. If you've got local mobility anchors disabled, it seems
unlikely to hit. It's not a massive issue, but can cause APs to reject clients
if the controller "thinks" there are already 200 clients. We've got a
workaround.

We had two 5508s reboot, one twice. Neither had had a cold shutdown in months.
The other 5508 (which was moved over the summer so a cold reboot) hasn't
rebooted, and neither has the 8510. They crashed and hit a watchdog timer,
which reloaded them after ~30 mins or so.

After submitting crash dumps, it was thought to be caused by a bug in AVC -
CSCuq97965. Having turned AVC off, we've not had a crash since in about 3-4
weeks.

Apart from that, so far 8.0 seems generally fine.

Cheers,

Matthew
