Mac equivalents: 1.) option-click on the Airport icon in the menu bar to see instantaneous detailed information on the current connection.
2.) Another command-line Mac tool is available at: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Versions/A/Resources/airport This will give you all sorts of other info.
