I got a standard 802.11b Access Point and my friend has one 802.11b client PCI Card and another 802.11b PCMCIA client card. AP has a small omni antenna which could go up to 200ft, PCI card (which is in my desk top computer) also has omni antenna and PCMCIA client has in-built antenna.
I would like to connect between my home(802.11 AP) and my friend's home(802.11 Client).We have LOS and it is 1 mile apart. I am thinking having an external antenna on both sides. What types of antennas available for AP and Client? How much they cost ? I would like to connect two more friends in the same area, but one-mile apart in different direction. Can I use sectoral antennas ? Appreciate your response. Thanks Krishna
