Howdy All, I need to send a wireless signal about 1000 ft but there is a hill in the way. I got a dish antenna pointed to the top of the hill. At the top of the hill I mounted two back to back dish antennas connected together with a low loss coax, trying for a passive repeater. It does not get the signal over the hill.
So I guess I need to go active. I don't have power available so I will need to run power about 500 ft; therefore I would prefer to run 5 - 12 V DC instead of 110 VAC. Is there a 2.4GHz repeater that can be bought or is my only option to use 2 Access Points back to back. It is outside so I would need to weather-proof it. Does someone have a service to quote setting this up? Dollars are an issue, but we do have some flexibility.
