Short answer "No"
Business e-mail would be the deal killer
Insecure Business e-mail would be even worse.
Unencrypted financial transactions even of a personal nature would be the
third strike.
haveing to self police would be cumbersome particularly if you were doing
some sort of File retrieval from your server.
I could live witout the Porn.

Subject: [BAWUG] I need your opinion - Range vs Content

I'm getting only a few comments on this from the first list I put it on.
BAWUG
seems to have pretty wide coverage - so here goes...

----

I have some ideas about how folks in the "unlicensed" community feel
about this, but I'd like to be at least quasi-scientific and ask...

Here's the question:

If there was a magic Wi-Fi box, at a reasonable price, would you use it IF
you would not put encrypted or secure traffic on it. No music performances.
No downloading of your own or others business Email. No hosting of a
commercial
web page. No porn. :-(

In exchange for those restrictions, you could get 10 DB more signal, (10
watts out),
unrestricted antenna gain and probably 2 or 3 times the range for a given
data rate.

Is the extended range worth working with the restrictions?

Thanks,
Bill
