Hello,

I have a friend who knows a guy who's looking for a wireless connection point up in the hills above palo alto.

He claims to have line of sight to Santa Cruz and to several populated
areas on the east peninsula. I'm wondering whether it might be possible
to use his site as a repeater for bridging santa cruz to the rest of the
bay area (SFLan? BARWN?). I'm planning on going out to his place
sometime soon to see whether the LOS is promising.

Who, in particular, would be interested in such a link?

Also, does anyone have access to PathLoss or is there a similar (low
cost or free) tool I could use to scout possible links?

Thanks,

- --dgc
