BARWN doesn't have the 802.11b timing adjustments in their radio's for long
links, so its likely that the shot to the Marina might not come up if you
are going for a shot to a link longer than YBI..

Subject: [BAWUG] connecting to BARWN

I've got a community access wireless net (802.11b) at the Berkeley
Marina. Back in August when I was setting up, I noticed I could get
BARWN signals coming from across the Bay with a 15db gain sector.
(probably the yerba buena island radio)

So, I'm wondering what sort of backbone bandwidth BARWN has, and if they
are willing to allow other networks to bridge/route to them? I read
their white paper, but I'm not sure about the scope of their operation.

Yours,

Scott
