2x is higher modulation, up to 14 mbps data. Regular SM's can achieve 14
mbps Bursts. There's and upgrade to allow sustained 14 Mbps. Dunno the
price..

Silly question but what is the difference between 1x and 2x? Also how much
does Canopy charge for the software upgrades to up the performance of the
subscriber units?

Thanks,
Chadd

I think its 3db for 1X mode at any signal strength and 10db for 2X mode
and signal has to be -65 to achieve 2X mode.
