Now I don't want to cheat and prioritize the web sites that they use, I 
genuinely see where the service falls flat and fix it.

Some times my speed is better than DSL, some times its worse.  The raw 
throughput of the connection isn't what's measured here, but how quickly your 
connection fetches certain web sites.

Is there a way to analyze what parts are taking the longest and how to adjust 
my network to fix those?

I believe this could be a great marketing tool if you're better than DSL to 
show that you are better than DSL.
