I'd use MT on 5.3GHz with netstream. Depending on load, you could likely serve the 25 buildings with 2-3 MT ap's, or even a RouterBoard 600 with 2-3 radio cards. In tests, I've pushed over 50Mb/s thru 2 radio cards as netstream ap's on a RB600. And I'd use 5.2/5.3 because the power limits will be of no matter at a range of 2000ft or less... And netstream because I just don't care for 802.11abg for backhauls. I plan to have about 5 ap's collecting the buildings(so 5 cpe per ap). In each building will be indoor 2.4ghz ap's, serving 15 or so people per building.<http://www.aerowire.net> Alan Long Director of Network Operations Aerowire <http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&addr=687+North+Dean+Road&csz=Aubu rn%2C+AL+36830&country=us> 687 North Dean Road Auburn, AL 36830 <mailto:alan.l...@aerowire.net> alan.l...@aerowire.net tel: mobile: <http://www.plaxo.com/click_to_call?lang=en&src="" mail=along5...@yahoo.com> 3342759998 <http://www.plaxo.com/click_to_call?lang=en&src="" mail=along5...@yahoo.com> 3344446092 <https://www.plaxo.com/add_me?u=30065206883&src=""> nvite=1<=en> Always have my latest info <http://www.plaxo.com/signature?src=""><=en> Want a signature like this? _____ From: wireless-boun...@wispa.org [mailto:wireless-boun...@wispa.org] On Behalf Of Blair Davis Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2008 1:51 PM To: WISPA General List Subject: Re: [WISPA] ptmp gear This just begs for more info... 25 buildings fed from a single point. How many clients per building? what total bandwidth usage is expected? bandwidth per building? is this intended as a backhaul to the buildings, with wired service within the buildings? or are you trying to provide walk-around coverage for laptops?
