It was approx one mile from Vega street in Irving, maybe 2. It looked
like a Trango 5830-ext on a 10 foot mast and tripod.

Where did you spot a Trango?  Could have been one of ours.  We have
essentially 100% coverage within the loop around DFW and substantial
coverage extending beyond the loop into 11 or more counties.
