One of my clients (a big cable company) just bought hundreds of thousands of dollars of Cisco gear, only to find that it's going to be end of life in just a few months. Their Cisco rep royally screwed them on that one, and when they complained, they got nowhere and have since started to move to other vendors. Another client of mine in the City of San Jose is really careful about buying anything Cisco-related after a big Cisco scandal a few years ago. Apparently they tried to move some Cisco gear at the 11th hour into some big proposal, and it went over like a fart in church when people found out (it was a VoIP install, if I remember right). Now they use Nortel, NOT Cisco.
