I discovered that somewhere along the lines, MT added support for USB-based GPS. So I bought a $15 outdoor USB GPS off eBay. We'll see next week if it works. MT docs said as long as it supports NMEA output (which this one did) it'd work.
We don't need accuracy down to the nanosecond, but within a second or two. We provide services to the local E911 PSAP, and need to make certain our end matches theirs for VoIP, log files, etc. For this app, we don't want to rely on Internet-based NTP servers, as some of our application is not tied to the public Internet.
