The County charges $6,000 for a use permit to install a "Wireless Communication Facility". That includes towers or just adding an antenna to an existing tower or rooftop. Then they charge you another $750 to $1,000 for the building permit to install the antenna. To be on the safe side you also need to hire a land-use planner for $15K to $20K to handle the permit process on your behalf. After the antenna is installed, you have to hire an engineering firm to measure the RF emissions to make sure that the new antenna operates within the FCC RF radiation exposure standards. This doesn't include any outside engineers the county might have to hire to review your application and it does not include any fees for leasing the tower or rooftop. The county code for Wireless Communications Facilities is 30 pages long with a 30 page application.
