I'll second that. I have used the various 2.4 G versions for a few years. They now have an sma connector for external antenna. The only drawback is they have to be plugged into a USB port. Witht the right directional antenna it may be possible to find the direction the offending signal arrives from. You might be better with a little lossy antenna though. If you have that strong a signal in the nearfield, the signal will appear to be coming from everything metal. I still suspect something at the site, based only on the signal level you reported. When you do your audit, turn everything off -- read, turn one thing on -- read, turn another thing on --read.
