I've googled and searched and can't find an answer to this. I posted to the MT forum, but I thought I'd try here too. Thanks!
I would like to know if it's possible to back up the entire RouterOS install including the license on an x86 installation. I have a computer on which I was using for RouterOS but have swapped it out for an RB750. I want to use the computer for other things (perhaps Astaro or Untangle) but I don't want to lose the RouterOS license, and I would also like to have the computer ready to go back in service with RouterOS should the RB750 fail (I lost one to lightning before adding lightning protection). Understand I am not trying to pirate RouterOS or do anything which is contrary to the terms of the license. I just want to use the machine for something else, with the possibility of reverting back to RouterOS if the RB750 which replaced it should fail. If I didn't live in the jungle of South America I'd run down to Best Buy and pick up another SATA hard drive and use that for the other OS. But I only have one drive so I'm looking at imaging the drive with RouterOS on it and keep tha t image safe so I can use the hard drive for something else. Should this work? Any advice would be appreciated. Greg -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WISPA Wants You!
