The static dissipators need to be taller than the antennas, and VERY well grounded. They will provide a cone of protection around the equipment under them. I know of a radio station building that took a hit about every year. He installed these and has not been hit since, around 10 years. I have some from Alltec on my tower and have not had a hit.
