I know this is not a WISP issue per se. In our local area there was a network admin for a large company who on the side setup about a hundred websites for local small business and individuals. Last month he took his wife's life and then killed himself. No other family left and no one to handle his affairs. His Clients are coming to me and asking how do I get control of my website. They had no agreements and no proof of ownership other than the dead mans handshake.
What steps can be taken to recover these sites? What is the best way to research and find where they are hosted, not just the registrar?
