I'm presently using a WAP11 I got used from e-bay in a enclosure outdoors on a 50 foot tower connected to a 15dbi gain antenna. I'm not very happy with the performance of the wap11. I'm not sure if the unit is partly defective or what but the signal strength bounces around a lot even when in line of site of the gain antenna. Sometimes I'll have a 50 dbi signal then suddenly it will drop out and lose the connection. I'm sharing throughout the nationhood for donations and I need to spend that money on a better access point. The more power the better also (obviously).
