I don't know if the following information is relevant to this problem or not,
but in case it is, here's another observation:
When Wireshark is started and sparklines are working, Task Manager shows:
Wireshark (5)
Console Window Host
Console Window Host
Dumpcap
mmdbresolve.exe
The Wireshark Network Analyzer
When a capture file is opened, Task Manager shows:
Wireshark (3)
Console Window Host
mmdbresolve.exe
The Wireshark Network Analyzer
And finally when the capture file is closed again and sparklines are no longer
working, Task Manager shows tasks basically flipping between the above 2
states, indicating that Dumpcap seemingly is run periodically afterwards. I
would expect the task list to be in a consistent state between when Wireshark
is first started and after the capture file is closed.
