Ted,
I think you are describing the same problem I had. I tracked it down to the
Witango server hanging for a minute or 2 every 30 minutes. As I started
using more data sources the server hung more often.
I never figured out exactly what the problem is, but it has to do with the
data connection timeout setting. I am not sure if it is a Witango problem
or an Oterro problem. When the datasource times out, it causes Witango to
hang for a minute or two.
I changed the datasource timeout setting from 30 to 1440 (24 hours), and I
restart the Witango service every night when my backup runs. This fixed the
problem and I never investigated it any more.

Hi,
We are having hanging problems with our RTango server on Windows 2000 and it
is getting worse. The symptoms are:
The server watcher doesn't seem to be working correctly, always in a
state of starting. On restart, event log says it is hung on starting.
In a editing a simple taf that accesses a Rbase table of 15 records of
text only data, the browser hangs or does not refresh after about the third
or fourth edit save. Then I have to restart the tango server again.
In running a taf with hyperlinks, clicking on hyperlinks starts an
action that increments webclicks data in a Rbase table, then opens the
hyperlink target in a new window. After the third or fourth click on a
hyperlink, the browser will hang. Until I restart the tango server.
Plus there is the unexplained hang, usually at midday. There is nothing
in any of the server logs of other software running at the same time.
The only thing we haven't done is reinstall.
If anyone can help, thanks.
