Hi list i like to post a technical statemant from openlinksw.com, who support me in connecting to openbase via witango with new 5 driver.
Any ideas for the international characters in varchar fields? Christian +++ .., as you may have noticed release 5.0 went live a couple of days ago so there was a big push to complete our QA tasks before release occurred. As I believe I mentioned previously the Boolean problems does look like a unwanted feature, however I have tested the JDBC bridge agent against another database and this returned successfully the Boolean result. So this is either a Specific OpenBase problem or OpenBase functionality with the OpenLink JDBC Agent. With regards to the Special characters I have been able to insert these are return them with a varchar column in OpenBase, but I have not been able to view them in Witango, although my set up is not identical to yours could you try retrieving the data from OpenBase using OpenLink's driver to see whether this information can be inserted stored and retrieved via OpenLink correctly on your environment, if you have a windows machine handy then this should be fine with a wider range of ODBC compliant applications. If you can confirm that you can also insert these German characters and retrieve them, then it would confirm that the problem lies with Witango? Have you contacted Witango at all? If not I would gladly fire an email in their direction to see what they have to say about this. .. ________________________________________________________________________ TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text/US ASCII email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe witango-talk in the message body
