I have seen threads on this list re: the state of Pringles potato chips.

If the discussion is not helpful to you, ignore it. That is what the subject is for.

Robert.

Good point, Sooooo, 2 wrongs do make a right after all.

Good to know.

I have been on the list since 1996 and this is the longest discussion of low value that I remember seeing. I took the time and offered a way to steer the discussion into territory that might benefit the 99.7% of the list members who are not taking part in this programmer coffee-klatch type discussion and you ignored that point. Keep in mind, that although the numbers have changed, that when Pervasive bought Tango the FMP version of Tango was by far the largest installed base. A large theoretical discussion of SQL procedures between 2 or 3 list members might not be the best use of the list and list member's resources. I kept reading the posts because I've had been (erroneously) assuming it was going to get back to discussing some sort of day to day Tango issues re: current real world server performance.

Possibly a more appropriate response would have been "sorry, got carried away, will take it offlist". I've had to say that myself from time to time. Surprisingly I lived right through it and am still breathing today.

M./
