After a few years of managing my servers behind my own T1, I had to make a decision to either start buying more bandwidth, and managing it, or looking for a colocation service. I spent almost a year getting quotes from all the major telco providers exploring all my bandwidth option, and getting quotes from Co-Lo companies. I finally found a Co-Lo company that I found with very reasonable prices, and that would colocate towers instead of just rackmounts. The company was small enough that I could talk to the owner and get to know him. I probably made him crazy with all of the questions I asked before I committed.

I have had my servers there since the beginning of December last year, and aside from a few hiccups, It has been a great experience. The thing I like the most, is that I can call Eric (the owner) and he will personally help update some software or put up a new server, anything else that I might not completely be able to do remotely. I have a power supply that the fan stopped working on, so I sent up a new server. I am not worried about it because I know I could ask Eric to replace the power supply for me if I really need to.

I have personally inspected the facility, it is clean, and very cool (temp). They have a lot of rackmount space, and european racks for towers with a special grate system for cooling. They are running on 2gb of fiber, and are using BGP for ultimate reliablity.

They also specialize in MacHosting and XServe leasing or Co-lo.

The owners name is Eric Bickford [EMAIL PROTECTED], and the company is MacWeb.net. http://www.macweb.net/

I am using all windows boxes, but I wanted to have the flexibility to use any mac servers if I so desired.

Anyway, if you are thinking about it, contact him and let him know I sent you, I may get a discount or something. ;-) I am not affiliated in any way with MacWeb, just a helpful tip to the witango community.
